The new Republican gubernatorial nominee, Susana Martinez, proved to be slightly more popular among relatively moderate Santa Fe County GOP voters than she was statewide. That could be interpreted as a demonstration of her supposed crossover appeal—a description that seems to have stuck, her right-wing issue positions and endorsement from Sarah Palin notwithstanding.
