Election Day: Learn About Your Neighbors

By Corey Pein
Click on the images after the jump to see the current Santa Fe County voter registration figures, by precinct. (The county has a neat precinct mapping tool here. Also, your voting precinct and city council district are listed on your voter registration card.)

We've gone through the trouble of color-coding the precincts relevant to the contested races in today's City Council elections. We've also done a little math:

In District 1—that's Russell Simon vs. Doug Nava vs. Councilor Chris Calvert—there are 15,311 registered voters. In District 2—Councilor Rebecca Wurzburger vs. Stefanie Beninato—there are 11,896 registered voters.

Once the returns start coming in this evening, we'll be able to see whether Journal North editor Mark Oswald's dismal turnout predictions turn out to be correct.
