Robin Romm's 2009 memoir, The Mercy Papers, hit bookstores to an explosion of praise, including a glowing review in the New York Times. It's Romm's second book; her first, 2007's The Mother Garden (a collection of short stories), was also lauded nationwide. The Mercy Papers was named a top 100 book of 2009 by just about every publication ever, including the San Francisco Chronicle and the New York Times. It was actually in the top 10 for Entertainment Weekly, but who's counting? (We are.)

Romm lived in Santa Fe while she taught at the College of Santa Fe from 2007 to 2009; when the College announced (prematurely, as it were) it was closing, she signed on as an assistant professor of creative writing at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. She visits Santa Fe for a book signing and reading to celebrate the book's paperback release.

SFR reviewed the book last January and interviewed Romm for the book's release. We're excited to have her back in Santa Fe not only because she's super-talented, but also because she's darn cute.
