KSFR Has Furloughs, Too

After battling the five inches of snow and ice that blanketed my car this morning—and wishing my mode of transportation were skis, not wheels—I hopped inside and turned on 101.1 FM, only to discover that

had

suspended its local news coverage

to save money.

Sad! Who would tell me more about the state budget debacle? Who would offset the BBC's world view with some sensible Santa Fe talk?

Turns out KSFR is holding a one-day fundraising blitz from 6am to 9pm tomorrow (Thursday, Dec. 10) in order, according to the station's website,

"

to shore up the station's finances in order to keep operating normally"

after failing to meet its September fundraising goal. The advantage, of course, being that they don't have to dig

their

cars out.
