Halloween in the Fe

October 23, 2009, 12:00 am

By Amy Kuhre, SFR Intern

Although the thought of squeezing into some long-forgotten unitard from Halloweens past seems thrilling purely for the sake of nostalgia, Santa Fe is offering so many freakish events on October 31 that we might as well  be adults and barhop  instead of pander for diabetes on strangers' doorsteps. Tons of live music, costume contests galore and plenty of libations promise to make this a Halloween you'll struggle to remember. And if you crave something different for All Saints Day,  Santa Fe is offering up art receptions with ghoulish undertones and chamber music to boot.

Let the festivities begin!

Splash-DayOfTheDeadSFR's Halloween Party
7 pm
$1

Milagro 139
139 W. San Francisco St.

What would Halloween be without SFR and its awesome party? It would be LAME is what it would be. Our party's only $1, and proceeds benefit the Esperanza Shelter for Battered Families, so you can't really go wrong. For that measley buck, you get all the dancing you can stand with DJ Feathericci, a costume contest judged by the celebrities of the SFR editorial staff, and much more. Just so you can plan ahead, categories for the costume contest are scariest, sexiest, most original, wild card, and—the most important one of all—BEST MICHAEL JACKSON. Our copyeditor Rani will be dressed as MJ, and she makes a really good black man, so get ready for a run for your money.

Below the jump, get a load of the rest of the awesome events that will be happening this All Hallows' Eve.
