It was the best of times...

By Rani Molla
Here's a fun little end-of-the-week game and a great way to see how your legislators are treating the poor in these, the worst of economic times: http://www.povertyscorecard.org.

The Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law, with the help of antipoverty experts, made this handy guide, which rates members of Congress based on how they voted for a wide array of poverty issues. According to their 2008 data for New Mexico, Democrats Sen. Jeff Bingaman and Rep. Tom Udall both got an A+. Shame, shame on Republicans Sen. Pete Domenici and Rep. Steve Pearce who both got Ds.
