Parsons instead of Richardson?

By SFR Staff
Time's blog The Page is reporting that former Time Warner CEO and Chairman Richard Parsons is under consideration to replace Gov. Bill Richardson as Commerce Secretary-designee. (Hmmmm....I wonder how Time got that scoop.)

So,  what's the difference between Richard Parson and Richardson? The simple answer: Pars. That, and a whole lot of executive experience in the private sector. And he's not Latino (sure to irritate LULAC, who has its own list of Hispanic potentials, including Albuquerque Mayor Marty Chavez). Oh, and Parson's a Republican.

We've got an e-mail into Richardson's office to see what he thinks. We'll update if we get a response, someone else gets a response or he issues an official statement.

Anyway, the news comes the same day that Time Warner Cable announced that it's looking at an enormous loss when it reports its 2008 finances on Feb. 4.
