Executive Director of Think New Mexico—a Santa Fe-based think tank—Fred Nathan is a self-described “recovering attorney.” Since Nathan founded Think New Mexico in 1999, the group has worked to repeal the food tax, provide universal kindergarten and create the Strategic Water Reserve. Its current campaign is to reform government ethics.

Last week, researchers at King’s College London made headlines around the world by declaring there is “no physiological or physical basis” for the so-called G-spot, after having quizzed 1,804 female twins about their sex lives. The news irked Santa Fe therapist Alice Kahn Ladas, co-author of the 1981 book The G Spot, which popularized “this often misunderstood female erogenous zone.”

Artist Issa Nyaphaga is a native of Cameroon, a central African country where electricity, sufficient food and health care are scarce and polio runs rampant.  After an artist residency at the Santa Fe Art Institute, Nyaphaga ran a supply drive with the help of Jenny Sanborn, a volunteer for Santa Fe-based humanitarian nonprofit Soulful Presence.

While living in Nantucket, she co-wrote a book about its historical architecture and, shortly after arriving in New Mexico, she began researching The Santa Fe House.

Cody Sheppard, the ski patrol director at Ski Santa Fe, grew up in the tropics, but—as the Texans like to say—he got here as fast as he could. After learning to ski back in the 1970s, during college at St. John’s, Sheppard took up ski patrolling. He’s been doing it ever since, and he’s psyched for what looks like a promising ski season.
