SFR Picks, Feb. 4: “Yo Confieso”

Surprise

As a native Mexican, I didn't know what to expect before the play started, but it quickly proved to be a thoughtful yet entertaining piece. Great writing and great performance!

Excellent

Teatro Vivo was proud to produce this in Austin, Texas. Mical Trejo is excellent in his performance, and Raul Garza's script touched all of our audience members who related to being in a new place both physically and emotionally at some time in their lives. Don't miss it, gente de Santa Fe!

Born Here, Feb. 4: “First Impressions”

That Was Easy

Great piece, Miljen Aljinovic. I must point out, though, that the Santa Fe Institute is far from hidden. We have great (and free) community lectures a dozen times a year at the James A Little Theater. We have Science on Screen events with the CCA in which a scientist introduces his or her favorite movie, with a science twist. We also have dozens of talks at the Institute every year, and the public is invited to join us, ask questions and be part of the conversation.

Ideal for One

Impeccable timing as we have just vacated an off-the-grid hovel. Most Santa Fe rentals advertise windowless mud huts as "ideal for one, single, fragrance-free, petless soul" near Trader Joes and the Plaza.

"Authentic adobe" equals: room to park a golf cart. Comes with clothesline! "Tranquility" equals: lack of basic amenities such as heat and electricity. "Artist sanctuary": You are twice divorced, like Raku pottery and got a good settlement. Santa Fe eats its young. We left.
