Actually

I am writing on behalf of New Mexico Legal Aid and Law Access New Mexico. Thank you for this timely article on an issue of fundamental importance to our community.

Both NMLA and LANM do, in fact, specialize in landlord-tenant and public housing law, and we have specialists on hand to advise clients regarding those matters. NMLA provides free legal advice, pro se help and representation to qualifying low-income tenants throughout New Mexico, while LANM is a call-in service that provides free legal advice and pro se help over the phone to low-income landlords and tenants.

Bilingual—English and Spanish—attorney and non-attorney advocates are available at both organizations, and free interpretation services allow us to help clients who speak other languages. Information on tenants' rights and other legal issues is available online at lawhelpnewmexico.com

Be Gone

I gotta say, that stretch of Cerrillos is a real hazard with intoxicated jaywalkers staggering across the road around lunchtime and grandstanding at irritated drivers while their cohorts watch in amusement. Make it go away.

I am afraid e-commerce online purchasing is what is really driving these national chains away, except for the very large metro areas with tons of foot traffic. So many malls are closing all over the United States that there is a website about abandoned malls. These property owners will have to figure out a new model and pricing to let local stores make a go of it.
