Restaurant Collision

Second Santa Fe restaurant car crash since December

Santa Fe drivers are making a habit out of crashing into restaurants.

Earlier today, a white pickup truck (pictured above) drove into the entrance of Refresqueria Las Delicias, a Mexican restaurant on Airport Road. Santa Fe police say they're currently investigating what caused the car crash.

Thankfully, neither the driver nor any restaurant patrons were injured in the crash, though police say the restaurant sustained "extensive damage."

The durable pickup truck, on the other hand, only suffered "slight damage."

The incident marks the second car crash into a Santa Fe eatery in two months. In the early hours of Dec. 4, a man crashed his 2004 Chevy Malibu into the front entrance of Pizza 9 on Cerrillos Road. That accident happened while the driver was fiddling with his cell phone and crossed over a drainage slip, losing control of his car.

Thankfully, no one was injured in that incident either. Still, the Chevy Malibu managed to clear more of the building and sustain much more damage than the pickup truck did earlier today.
