Candidate Chat with Tim Keller

Two candidates compete for state auditor job

The next state auditor will have no experience at the job since the winner of a partisan race will replace outgoing Auditor Hector Balderas, who's now running for state attorney general.

Meet Tim Keller, a Democratic state senator among the youngest candidates in the New Mexico general election. We also invited his opponent Robert Aragon, but the Republican who will appear on the ballot didn't get back to us.  Please note, SFR Editor Julie Ann Grimm calls Keller a "former" senator in this interview. We regret the error. If Tim isn't elected auditor, he'll remain in the Senate for another two years.

This is the latest in a series of videos intended to help voters make decisions in the general election. Early, in-person voting lasts through Saturday. Election Day is Nov. 4. See videos with more candidates here.  Our endorsement issues is due out on Oct. 29.
