COVER STORY, OCT. 9:
"RED TAPE: ABORTION ACCESS UNDER FIRE"

POOR TASTE
Your portrayal of a bound and naked woman in a spotlight surrounded by dark figures is an unconscionable depiction of any abortion effort either pro or con.  Anyone viewing your cover would see it as being in unbelievably poor taste, at the least. Regarding the story, those of us who are in the pro-life movement have seen hundreds of happy, healthy non-abortive families.  It is as easy to imagine Caleb and Molly experiencing the joy of a healthy child as opposed to your report of the angry, lost, narcissistic couple you've given us.

UGLY TRUTH
That picture!  Really?  It does a great job of portraying the anguish that post-abortive women feel; the regret that we are bound by for the rest of our lives. Shame on you. You continue to spread the pro-abortion defense without actually talking about what late term abortion entails.  Let's see an article that describes the different surgical procedures, what happens to the woman's body and how the baby's body is treated.  I gave you more than enough information to do that. No more bumper sticker slogans, women and the public deserve the ugly truth!

MOVIES, OCT. 9:
"GRAVITY"

DOESN'T FLOAT
Your movie critics are just not into sci-fi, are they? According to Rotten Tomatoes, only 2 percent of all movie critics didn't like Gravity. So you are almost in the 1 percent, though in the wrong one. The other thing was that you did not even review Elysium—even though that was one of the biggest movies of the summer. And it had in fact, a message that I thought would resonate with you people.

I recently gave my $5 to one of our mayoral candidates and although it won't compete with ALEC's, it does represent something of the people, by the people, for the people, me! And I hope others will follow. And I do believe revolutions can and do start with one person as Margaret Mead is reported to have said. Join me in being that one person!

DOOFUS?
"Basically, apart from hiring that doofus who stands on Cerrillos and tries to lure you into Whoo's Donuts, I'm not sure what more could be done to call attention to these SUVs and protect our speeding dimwits from themselves" [Blue Corn; Oct. 9]. Doofus huh? Robert maybe you you could be as kind to a citizen trying to make a living, no matter how absurd of an occupation and beneath you it is, as you are to all your "pat yourself on the back" rescued dogs.
