Cold As Ice

“This is the memory of the landscape. That landscape is gone and may never be seen again in the history of civilization, and it’s stored right here,” James Balog says, standing next to his camera as the trailer for his documentary, Chasing Ice , ends. For several years, Balog, a former skeptic of climate change, trekked across the Arctic with his team in an attempt to capture undeniable proof of our planet’s changing face. This visually stunning and unique story about one man’s obsession with documenting the truth inspires and informs viewers about our current environmental situation. New Energy Economy, an organization dedicated to creating jobs through clean energy, hosts the free event. Join them for cake and lemonade, and watch some ice melt—I promise, it’s never been this interesting.
