Best Local Independent Coffee/Tea House

Because Caffeine Is the One Drug We’ll Never Give Up

Gwyneth Doland
JavaJoes-l

1 Java Joe’s
2801 Rodeo Road, 505-474-5282
604-A N. Guadalupe St., 505-795-7775

Java Joe’s serves killer coffee; there’s no question about that.

But it’s our favorite independent coffee house and it’s—well, actually, both locations are great places to hang out. Hanging out at Java Joe’s reminds us of all the things that make Santa Fe great. There’s an incredible mix of people: guys in suits and expensive shoes rushing in for a cup to go, tattooed students camped out poring over books, telecommuters taking advantage of the free Wi-Fi, exhausted parents looking desperate for a jolt of caffeine.

The location on Rodeo Road is especially a community hub.

2 Ohori’s Coffee, Tea & Chocolate, 507 Old Santa Fe Trail, 505-988-7026
   1098½ S. St. Francis Drive, 982-9692

3 The Teahouse, 821 Canyon Road, 505-992-0972
