1 Big Jo True Value Hardware

Big Jo True Value Hardware doesn’t need us to fluff its feathers. It’s placed first since SFR added the hardware category in 2007. That same year, Santa Fe Beautiful—an organization that educates both young and old about the environment—awarded Big Jo Business of the Year for its donations of cleaning supplies. Big Jo was the City of Santa Fe’s 2008 Business of the Year. And this year, it was Sonny Brown Business of the Year, chosen from all of New Mexico and West Texas for its business ethics. The 75-year-old business should be feeling pretty smug right now, but it hasn’t let all the awards go to its head. According to Operations Manager Jessica C de Baca, the business, which has everything one could think of to DIY, keeps customer service at its heart. “You come in and are greeted at the door by someone who helps you find what you need,” she says. If it’s anything related to hardware, home repair or accolades, Big Jo has got it.
