Best Locally Brewed Beer 2008

Mmm. Beer

By Gwyneth Doland

If only you didn’t need stupid stuff like milk, butter, eggs and sriracha, then there’d be more room in the fridge for growlers of Santa Fe Pale Ale, Fiesta IPA and State Pen Porter. Damn you, gherkins and mustard! Move over, peach preserves and American cheese slices! It’s summer now and that means there’s Freestyle Pilsner on tap at Santa Fe Brewing. Kinda makes you want to turn the whole fridge into a kegerator, don’t it? Well, if the significant other won’t let you unload all the tortillas and install a tap, you’ll just have to do your imbibing in person. Dang it! Gotta go see an awesome band at the Brewing Company again! This year, the pub’s lineup includes the legendary X, Billy Bob Thornton, Toots & the Maytals and Taj Mahal Trio. Mmm…delicious beer plus rock music.
