“I’ve always loved shoes—most women do,” On Your Feet owner Nina Houle says. This love brought Houle’s shoe store from a 500-square-foot space on Old Santa Fe Trail to the 5,000-square-foot showroom it now inhabits in the Sanbusco Center, not to mention On Your Little Feet, the brand new kids’ store Houle has opened across the hall. The shoes at OYF serve a variety of purposes. Athletic sandals from Keen, hiking boots from Merrill or work-ready slides from Beautifeel are all available, and employees are always on the floor to offer advice or help with sizing.

They don’t work on commission so the buyer can rest assured they won’t be pushed into a sale. The comfort level is key. “I try to make the store feel like you’re coming into someone’s home,” Houle says. The OYF team is always striving for a great selection and impeccable customer service, and being the best is their top priority. “I’d be really troubled if we didn’t win,” Houle says with a smile.
