Some of us (probably most straight guys, for example) think manicures and pedicures are merely an arcane kind of fancy trimming of fingernails and toenails. At RockResorts Spa at La Posada, there’s more—much, much more. Laura Parsons, spa manager, spa therapist and nail technician by training, clarifies. “Every pedicure here at RockResorts also includes a facial mask, exfoliation and an intensive massage. The summer special we call ‘Margarita Madness’ includes one of our signature margaritas from the Staab lounge, and features a salt scrub, a white tea and lime facial mask and citrus essential oils.” Sounds intoxicating. What’s not intoxicating: the line of vegan, organic nail polish available. “It’s very popular with our local customers, and it has the same longevity as regular nail polish but none of the nasty chemicals,” Parson says. In the works for the fall: a brand-new skin-care line.  Parsons puts it succinctly when asked why the spa was voted Best: “We have the very best therapists in Santa Fe.” Cheers!
