315

With heat lamps and a white tent of linen to buffer the cold, 315 offers patrons a nearly year-round privilege taken much for granted in warmer seasons-outside dining. At night, particularly, this is a romantic touch, giving couples fond of snuggling in public all the more reason to do so. Adding to the romantic air is the near encyclopedia-sized menu of wines. Before drinking and dining, start the night with an appetizer such as the rich and creamy butternut squash

soup. As for entrées, consider the roasted onion and garlic crusted chicken. Served with root vegetables, mushroom barley risotto and Oregon white truffle, the chicken is crisp and flavorful, the garlic tasty without being overpowering. Also recommended is the bacon-wrapped rainbow trout. Served in a fine beurre blanc sauce, the trout comes with chanterelle mushrooms, corn and fried polenta. While there are arguably few eateries where desserts eclipse entrées, 315 is just such a place. Most delectable of all is the mixed berry tart. The dish comes with whipped cream and a raspberry sauce that's absolutely devastating.
