Entrants have to be at least 21 years of age.
Entrants are required to submit a recorded audition in one of six talent categories, and should be considered an amateur performer.
The deadline for entries is midnight on Wednesday Jan. 12, 2011.
24 entrants will be selected to perform in three preliminary competitions on Saturday Feb. 5, Saturday Feb. 12 and Saturday Feb. 26, 2011.
From the original 24 contestants, 9 finalists will be selected to compete in the Santa Ana Star Search finale on March 12, 2011.
