Tonight at Santa Fe Community College, relive Patrick Swayze's glory days at a screening of Dirty Dancing.
The lovely ladies at the Santa Fe chapter of NOW, the National Organization for Women, send along the following:
If you’ve never seen Dirty Dancing, the 1987 film with Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, here’s your chance! And if you love the movie and can’t ever see it often enough, here’s your chance! In fact, you can see Dirty Dancing, participate in a discussion about abortion AND support the Pro-Choice Safety Network Fund, on Tuesday night, October 19th at 7:00 P.M. in the Board Room at the Santa FeCommunity College. What an offer! Joan Lamunyon-Sanford, Executive Director of the New Mexico Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, will introduce the film, and will be joined after the showing by Annie Lynn and Denise Jennings, from Planned Parenthood of New Mexico, for a discussion.
Dirty Dancing is the fourth installment (of five) in NOW's 2010 video series, which is titled "Before There Was Choice," produced in partnership with the RCRC and Planned Parenthood, and focuses on reproductive rights for women. All donations go to the Pro-Choice Safety Network Fund, which provides non-medical assistance for underprivileged women seeking abortions.
