on the city’s Water Conservation Rebate Program, which was asking for another $703,000 to continue operating through the end of the year. A Public Utilities Committee meeting to address the matter was cancelled and, on July 18, the rebate program ground to a halt.

“We ran out of funds, so we ended the program—at least temporarily,” Daniel Ransom, the city’s Water Conservation Manager, tells SFR. While he waits for the committee to hear his appeal, Ransom plans to look for other sources of cash. As for the program, he says, “It’ll come back. We just don’t know when.”
