When it comes to pet-related giving, you can always big-box it up at Petsmart (3561 Zafarano Drive, 471-5255) or Petco (2006 Cerrillos Road, 424-1667), but the locally owned Teca Tu (Sanbusco Market Center, 500 Montezuma Ave., Ste. 116, 982-9374) sells an exclusive "doggie vestido vest," a Southwest-inspired, Navajo-blanket-resembling coat ($42), as well as various fashion collars—basic black, pink leather with rhinestones, and even turquoise suede with real sterling silver and turquoise stones, concha-belt style ($39). If your pet is the more rugged type, he may prefer the Ruffwear K-9 Overcoat ($66, shown below). Of course, you'll have to be careful: Teca Tu's tagline is "A Pawsworthy Emporium and Deli"—meaning it's fully stocked with cute and delectable treats for even the finickiest fur-friend. For dogs, there are rawhide bones of every size, as well as six-packs of Bowser Beer (at $22, it's priced more like bourbon, so don't let your canine get addicted). Cats can go high-class, too, with Kitty Kaviar ($6.50) and the modernist, Austin-Powers-chic ModKat Litterbox ($198). Zoe & Guido's Pet Boutique (1441 Paseo de Peralta, 988-2500), another local shop, offers an almost-overwhelming array of eco-friendly pet attire, fancy beds and organic treats, on top of innovative takes on the basic necessities. West Paw Design's eco-nap beds start at $33 for the smallest size, and are made from recycled plastic; to get your pet in the seasonal spirit, Slumber Pet makes a Yuletide tartan bed ($37.50-$82.75). There's even a whole Christmas tree trimmed with pet toys ranging from $5-$15.
