Halloween is a busy day in Santa Fe so, after SFR’s Halloween bash, there’s no reason to go home. Two of our favorite bars join forces for Halloween Double Team, with music, a costume contest and, god willing, candy! When was the last time two bars that technically compete have come together for the greater good? ’Tis the season. At Cowgirl, Xoe Fitzgerald, the Time Traveling Transvestite, moves freely through time and space to spread love through rock ’n’ roll. Corazón hosts the return of Kentucky’s These United States, an alt.country/psych project that nearly destroyed my brain with incredible jams at its last performance. Beloved local KISS cover band Love Gun as well as DJ Jim Stephens are also on the roster. There are big cash prizes for the best costumes, so think of it as the perfect chance to rock out, have fun and be part of the most interesting water-cooler conversations come Monday. (Alex De Vore)
